derby figment 2017

in 2017 the international participatory arts festival figment again took place in derby.  the festival promotes itself as a place to get involved and try new things, both as a participant and as an artist.

the festival promotes risk taking by artists – hence exploring an analogue drawing machine – in the same year as researching digital based drawing ideas.

the concept was to invite the audience to work together to negotiate their own version of how the machine worked and what it might create.

the work was also included in Figments at  Boston and New York in 2018.
